PV Community Garden

Cultivating Community

Executive Committee

bonnie Bonnie Flores

I’ve wanted to be part of a community garden since the ’70s, and now I can. I’m not an experienced gardener, but as a former caterer, I love really fresh food, especially exotic produce and herbs. So I mostly work behind the scenes in hopes that my 40+ years as an entrepreneur will enable me to help the garden keep growing for years to come..

My regular job is in real estate. I’m the owner/broker of “Fox Realty, LLC” and specialize in new construction. However, my true callings and loves are gardening and rescuing Golden Retrievers. Working with the Community Garden has brought to me much joy and good ol’ exercise. It’s a wonderful outlet for socializing with fellow gardeners, and there is not much better than getting your hands dirty in God’s Miracle Earth.

Being born on a farm in Wisconsin I guess is what gave me the love of God’s earth and what we grow on it. When I had children, I started to grow food in a half acre garden. Then it was a must to provide food to put on the table. I love to see the seed pop out of the ground and become a plant. I moved to Prescott Valley in 2000. When I heard about the community garden, I rented a plot. I called it my soup garden as I plant everything to make vegetable soup. I am the Pantry Manager for St. Vincent de Paul and was so pleased when the garden offered the organic produce to us to feed the needy right here in Prescott Valley.
